Mining & Metals Company
Antam’s main gold and silver production is sourced from its gold mine at Pongkor, West Java. Indications of gold deposits at Pongkor were discovered by Antam’s Geology Unit in 1981, and production commenced in May 1994 after Antam secured the mining license in 1992.
As Antam's main objective is to enhance shareholder value by lowering costs while profitably expanding operations in a sustainable manner, we aim to sustain growth through reliable expansion projects, strategic alliances, acquisitions, increasing quality reserves and adding value by moving away from selling raw materials and increasing processing activities.
As one of the biggest state-owned mining companies in Indonesia, Antam always shares the welfare to the nation through tax, royalty and other non-tax state revenue (PNBP) as stipulated in the existing regulations. In 2010 Antam estimates higher contribution to the state from tax and non tax contributions in line with higher profits. Antam hopes that through its contribution to the state.
